The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) has done an excellent job of exposing a major cover-up at the EPA regarding a study on global warming because it conflicts with the agenda of the current administration and its Cap and Trade legislation.
Below you will find an excellent summary of the attempted cover-up of the evidence, which is, we are experiencing global cooling, not warming, gutting the argument for the horrendous “cap and trade” bill. Incredibility, CEI has also released internal emails between Al McGartland, Office Director of EPA’s National Center for Environmental Economics (NCEE), to Alan Carlin, Senior Operations Research Analyst at NCEE, forbidding him from speaking to anyone outside NCEE on endangerment issues. Mr. McGartland’s emails demonstrate that he was rejecting Mr. Carlin’s study because its conclusions ran counter to EPA’s proposed position. Don’t take my word for it, the evidence is here.
Folks, Congress just passed a 1,200 page bill which was not read, was shoved through with only 3 hours of debate, based on the premise that we are experiencing “global warming,” which will endanger life on earth as we know it. This bill will not only destroy jobs and your household budget, but we are being lied to by those who are pushing this “green” agenda. We must set the record straight. So here is part of the record:
The Public Shouldn’t Be Kept in the Dark by an Agency Supposedly Committed to Transparency

June 25, 2009Washington, D.C., June 26, 2009—The Competitive Enterprise Institute is today making public an internal study on climate science which was suppressed by the Environmental Protection Agency. Internal EPA email messages, released by CEI earlier in the week, indicate that the report was kept under wraps and its author silenced because of pressure to support the Administration’s agenda of regulating carbon dioxide.
The report finds that EPA, by adopting the United Nations’ 2007 “Fourth Assessment” report, is relying on outdated research and is ignoring major new developments. Those developments include a continued decline in global temperatures, a new consensus that future hurricanes will not be more frequent or intense, and new findings that water vapor will moderate, rather than exacerbate, temperature.
New data also indicate that ocean cycles are probably the most important single factor in explaining temperature fluctuations, though solar cycles may play a role as well, and that reliable satellite data undercut the likelihood of endangerment from greenhouse gases. All of this demonstrates EPA should independently analyze the science, rather than just adopt the conclusions of outside organizations.
The released report is a draft version, prepared under EPA’s unusually short internal review schedule, and thus may contain inaccuracies which were corrected in the final report.
“While we hoped that EPA would release the final report, we’re tired of waiting for this agency to become transparent, even though its Administrator has been talking transparency since she took office. So we are releasing a draft version of the report ourselves, today,” said CEI General Counsel Sam Kazman.

Lola - one week of possibly higher than normal temps in your undisclosed location, is certainly not conclusive scientific evidence.
I do however, give much more credence to the 37,000+ climate scientists who have signed onto a letter to Congress stating that “man made” global warming is a myth, a hoax, and unsubstantiated by scientific evidence, data, and analysis.

we have to remember that they have haarp technology and they can make temperatures go high in a flash, and can make hurricanes, too

This whole lie of global warming is only to permit this ” carbon taax scheme ” which is specifically to establish a funding mechanism for the United Nations to have it’s own funding for it’s own MILITARY OPERATIONS. How is it exactly that the UN, which is NOT a Sovereign Entity, can have a Military, and use Force against any humans on this planet? This is the whole crux to destroy America and establish the FEMA substate, suboudinate to the UN One World Government.

If you were living at a polor ice cap, I would be concerned. Since your town probably had weeks of high temps hundreds of years ago, a week of high temperature is certainly not an anomoly. Now if you are fair minded, you mght want to read material published by both sides of the argument before posting inane responses such as what you posted here. I sense that you may also believe that our president is going to fix everything and you are not going to be gouged with more taxes or, perhaps you will get in that big line for all the government handouts you were promised. Oh, New York just reported the coldest June in decades. I guess all the heat went to your town.
None of the members of congress who voted for the Waxman-Mackey bill read the bill. Waxman who was asked if he understood it said that he does not but trust the UN-IPCC who put together this legislation. Al Gore is now runing around Europe braging that with the House of Representatives passing this bill we are one step closer to a one world government. Everyone should contact their Senators and tell them to read and understand this bill before voting on it.
Does anyone know how this group (CEI) accounts for the drastic reductions, and in some cases total loss, of glaciers throughout the world? It is, contrary to their statement, very well documented that the Columbia Ice Sheet is receding at an extraordinary rate (see http://video.pbs.org/video/1108763899 for one example). Can anyone account for that happening in the midst of a global cooling? This group seems to be more frustrated with the workings of the EPA (which I completely understand) than with facts that are corroborated by a vast scientific undertaking. If this is about letting the EPA know that they need to start doing a MUCH better job, I’m all about it. But if this is a call to the masses to turn a blind eye to the fact that the worlds reserves of fresh water are pouring into the oceans at an alarming rate, I can’t help but wonder who is behind this call.
uhh. anyone every actually look at this “cover up?” Evidently it was written by a ECONOMIST alan carlin, not climate scienctist alan carlin. A bachelors in physics does not qualify you as a climate scienist, especially it your speciality is economics, a completely unrelated field. But, as for the paper, It contained claims guilty of tremendous logical fallacies. For example, one of its biggest claims, that the atmosphere has been cooling since 1998 is unbelievably flawed because his selected starting date was at the height of an el nino cycle. This is cherry picking at it’s worst. If you were to start at 1997 or 1999, temperatures would still look as though they are rising, and the 5 year average proves this.

It’s time to get the word out, far and wide! This is yet more damning evidence of playing politics with science. You can also chalk this up to the founders of the Human Genome Project - the folks who changed from the scientific-process to “data-driven science”. This Anthropogenic Global Warming garbo is all based on “data-driven science” where deliberately-falsified/modified data was used to come up with their “favorable” outcomes! ( Just reference the released reports, letters, and emails from the UK’s Climate Research Unit ( CRU ) where most of the information was from that was used to formulate the IPCC Report as well as in the COP 15 ( in Copenhagen, Denmark ). )
THE REASON for the all the covering up and lying about the so-called “scientific-data” is that there stands to be multiple BILLIONS if not TRILLIONS of dollars in obscene profits made, all in the name of “saving Earth”! Albert Arnold Gore, Jr. and Maurice Strong are set to make unbelieveably-stinking-huge profits by literally ripping-off all the people of the world.
